I was nervous about booking my first group tour to China, but this experience completely exceeded my expectations. Every detail was taken care of, from hotel bookings to inter-city transport, so I never had to stress about logistics. My family and I took this tour during our winter break from Singapore, and we all enjoyed it immensely. The 7-day length was just right: not too rushed to see all three cities and not too long that we got tired. The local food recommendations from our guide were the highlight of the whole trip.

As someone who loves both history and modern urban travel, this tour checked every box for me. We got to try authentic local street food in Guangzhou’s old town, walk the famous coastal viewpoint in Zhuhai looking out to Macau, and visit Shenzhen’s tech innovation zones that I’d only read about before. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the region’s rapid growth over the last 40 years, which added so much context to every stop. I left with a much better understanding of how the Pearl River Delta became the global hub it is today.

I booked this tour during Lunar New Year holiday to see how locals celebrate, and the cultural stops were absolutely wonderful. The only downside was that every major attraction was far more wonderful than we expected, which cut a little into our time exploring some spots. Our guide was still knowledgeable and kept us on schedule the whole week. I’d definitely recommend visiting outside peak holiday season if you can.

Guangzhou’s dim sum breakfast stop alone was worth the price of the tour. I loved seeing the contrast between ancient Chen Clan Academy and modern Shenzhen skyscrapers, every stop felt carefully chosen.
