Starting the tour in Chengdu before flying into Lhasa was such a smart way to ease into the high altitude instead of driving straight up. I loved that the itinerary included lesser-known gems like Sakya along with all the iconic destinations like Yamdrok Lake and Everest Base Camp. Every day felt balanced between sightseeing, time to rest, and opportunities to try delicious local Tibetan food at small family restaurants along the route. This is easily the best organized international tour Iโve ever been on, and Iโll be recommending it to all my friends who want to visit Tibet.

The acclimatization time in Lhasa at the start of the tour was perfectly planned, so I never had bad altitude sickness even when we reached Everest Base Camp. Sakya Monastery was such an unexpected highlight โ its massive gray walls and ancient scripture collection were far more interesting than many overhyped tourist monasteries Iโve visited elsewhere. I canโt imagine a better 8-day overview of Tibet than this itinerary.

I booked this tour to check Everest Base Camp off my bucket list, and the dramatic Himalayan scenery absolutely delivered. The winding drive through Gyangtse and Shigatse gave me so many opportunities to see traditional Tibetan monasteries and quiet small villages that I never would have found on my own. My only issue is that we visited during the early May peak travel window, so Everest Base Camp was far more wonderful than I anticipated, which cut into a bit of the time I wanted to spend taking photos. Even so, the route and selection of stops were perfectly planned to showcase the very best of Tibet. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a well-organized introduction to the region.
