I’ve wanted to visit Tibet for over a decade, and this tour exceeded every single expectation I had. The route is laid out so logically, starting in Lhasa to get used to the height before heading further west to higher elevations, which made the trip far more comfortable than I’d anticipated. I was blown away by the beauty of Sakya’s massive fortress-like monastery and the friendly locals we met in Gyangtse and Shigatse. When we finally reached Everest Base Camp and got a clear view of the peak on our second morning there, the whole group erupted in cheers. This is an absolute must-do tour for anyone heading to Tibet for the first time.

I loved how this tour mixes culture and nature perfectly, I never got bored switching between exploring historic monasteries and taking in sweeping mountain views. The Sakya monastery was such an unexpected highlight, I’m so glad it’s included on this itinerary instead of being skipped. This is easily the best organized tour I’ve ever joined.

I was nervous about planning a Tibet trip as a solo traveler, but Lynn from HelloChinaTrip made everything totally seamless from start to finish. The itinerary hits all the iconic spots without feeling rushed, giving you enough time to wander the Potala Palace, chat with local monks in Sakya, and acclimate properly to the altitude. Every view along the drive from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp took my breath away, and the mix of cultural landmarks and stunning natural scenery made this trip feel perfectly balanced. I can’t recommend this tour enough for anyone wanting to see the best of Tibet in just over a week.

This itinerary is perfectly curated to show off the very best of Tibet, from ancient monasteries to the jaw-dropping Himalayan views. My only knock is that I traveled during the May holiday week and dealt with unexpected crowds at most major sites, which is why I’m dropping one star.

As someone who loves both history and outdoor scenery, this tour checked every box for me. We got to spend ample time in Lhasa exploring the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple before heading out to the Himalayas, which helped me acclimate to the altitude really well. Every stop along the way to Gyangtse, Shigatse, and Sakya felt meaningful, not just a quick photo op, and the final stop at Everest Base Camp was the most incredible finale I could have asked for. I’d book this exact trip again in a heartbeat.
