Chengdu’s giant panda sanctuary was the highlight of the trip for me, but Zhangjiajie’s views absolutely took my breath away. The itinerary flows perfectly, moving from natural sites to city stops so you never get tired of one type of experience.

I came for the Zhangjiajie national park views and left obsessed with Chengdu’s laid-back vibe and delicious street food. Every day felt well-planned, switching from hiking among misty mountain peaks to exploring ancient history in Xi’an to admiring Chongqing’s neon skyline at night. 10 days was the ideal length for this perfectly balanced adventure.

As someone who loves both outdoor hiking and city sightseeing, this tour checked every single box on my travel wishlist. The Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an were even more impressive than I’d seen in documentaries, and walking through Zhangjiajie National Park made me feel like I was in another world. I loved getting to experience four completely different sides of China, from the misty karst mountains to the fluffy pandas to the neon-lit riverbanks of Chongqing. I can’t imagine a better introduction to China than this thoughtful, well-paced itinerary.

The mix of dramatic national park scenery and lively city culture on this tour was absolutely incredible. The only downside was that we traveled during Golden Week, so all the major attractions were far more wonderful than we expected.

I was nervous about planning my first trip to China, but Ethan from HelloChinaTrip curated this itinerary perfectly so we never felt rushed. We got to watch the sunrise over Zhangjiajie’s Avatar mountains, visit giant pandas in Chengdu, walk among the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, and eat mind-blowing hotpot in Chongqing. Every stop balanced the quiet awe of nature with the exciting energy of big Chinese cities, and 10 days was just the right length to see everything without feeling exhausted. I’ve already recommended this tour to all my friends who want to experience the best of what China has to offer.

Eating spicy Chongqing hotpot after hiking through Zhangjiajie made this the best trip I’ve taken in the last five years.

I booked this tour for my 10-year wedding anniversary trip with my spouse, and it was the most magical trip we’ve ever taken. We woke up early to catch the sunrise over Zhangjiajie’s karst peaks, and the view was so stunning we both got a little emotional. In Chengdu, we got so close to the giant pandas we could hear them munching on fresh bamboo, and in Xi’an, we learned so much fascinating context about the Terracotta Army. Chongqing’s night view from the Yangtze River cruise was the perfect capstone to our 10-day adventure. We will definitely be booking another China tour with this team again soon.

Zhangjiajie’s quartz peaks looked like they were straight out of a fantasy movie, and Chengdu’s giant pandas were even cuter in person. The balance between nature stops and city exploring kept the trip feeling fresh the whole 10 days.
