Every moment of this 6-day Tibet adventure was magical and seamlessly organized.

I booked this tour on a whim after seeing photos of Namtso Lake online, and it turned out to be the best decision I made for my year of traveling. The first three days in Lhasa were perfect for slowly acclimatizing to the altitude while wandering ancient temples, the bustling Barkhor Square, and trying delicious local momo and butter tea. The drive out to Namtso Lake was scenic the whole way, and waking up to see sunrise over the glassy lake is a memory I will never forget. The included stop in Xi’an at the end broke up the long journey back perfectly, and let me experience another incredible piece of Chinese history I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. I can’t imagine a better introduction to Tibet than this tour.

I was really nervous about altitude sickness before this trip, but our guide gave us great tips to acclimatize properly in Lhasa first. By the time we headed up to Namtso Lake, I felt completely fine and could enjoy every second of the scenery. This is easily the best trip I’ve ever taken.

The mix of cultural exploration in Lhasa and raw alpine beauty at Namtso Lake is perfectly balanced on this tour. I loved learning about modern Tibetan daily life from our local guide, who grew up in Lhasa and shared personal stories that made the culture feel far more real than any guidebook. The Xi’an stop on the route back was an unexpected treat, and getting to see the Terracotta Warriors up close was the perfect cherry on top. I’ve already recommended this tour to three friends planning their own China trips next year.

Namtso Lake’s mountain landscape is unlike anywhere I’ve ever traveled. The tour team handled all of the required Tibet entry permits seamlessly, which took all the stress out of planning the trip.

Ethan from HelloChinaTrip helped me adjust my itinerary last minute when I had to shift my travel dates, and everything went off without a hitch. Our local guide in Lhasa was incredibly knowledgeable about Tibetan Buddhism, and explained all the cultural customs at Potala Palace clearly for our group. Namtso Lake was even more stunning than any photo I’d seen online, and the bonus stop in Xi’an to see the Terracotta Army was such a nice surprise. The 6-day pace felt perfect, never too rushed, with enough time to soak in every moment.

This Tibet tour exceeded every single one of my expectations.

This is an incredible well-organized tour, but I visited during peak Golden Week and the crowds at major Lhasa sites made it a little harder to enjoy than expected.

Standing on the shores of Namtso Lake took my breath away. The bright blue water against the snow-capped peaks is a view I’ll carry with me forever. I’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone craving culture and adventure.
