I rated this tour 4 stars only because we visited during peak Golden Week and many sites were far more wonderful than we anticipated. Our private guide did everything possible to adjust our itinerary to avoid the busiest windows, which we really appreciated. The driver had a clean, comfortable van that made transit between sites a breeze, and all 4-star hotels served great breakfasts and were close to local food spots. The personalized route let us skip generic tourist traps and focus on the highlights we cared about most.
