I booked this trip as a solo traveler and felt completely safe and supported the entire 8 days. Starting in Lhasa to acclimatize was the best call, I never got seriously altitude sick even though I’m not a regular hiker. We drove through the most stunning mountain landscapes I’ve ever seen, stopping at ancient monasteries in Gyantse and Shigatse that I’d never even heard of before. The vehicle was comfortable, our guide brought extra oxygen just in case, and every meal was delicious and authentic. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a genuine adventure in Tibet.

Our guide was knowledgeable and the itinerary was well structured, but we had unexpected bad seasonal weather that blocked our view of Everest for two days. It’s no fault of the tour team, just bad luck, so I still had an incredible overall experience.

Lynn from HelloChinaTrip helped me adjust my itinerary last minute when my flight into Lhasa was delayed. She was incredibly responsive and made sure everything was rescheduled with no extra stress. The tour itself exceeded every expectation I had.

I was nervous about doing a high altitude trip, but the team did such a great job pacing everything. We got to stop whenever we wanted to take photos or adjust our itinerary, which is why I loved that it was fully customizable. We visited Gyantse and Shigatse and got way more cultural context than I would have gotten on a big group tour. Waking up to see Everest clear at sunrise is a moment I’ll never forget.

Customizing the trip to add an extra day in Lhasa to explore the Potala Palace was no hassle at all. Our guide was patient, answered all our cultural questions, and helped us arrange great local meals every day. I can’t imagine a better way to see Everest than this tour.
