I traveled solo on this tour and felt completely safe and well cared for the entire time. Kunming’s Stone Forest was such a wonderful surprise, and our guide shared both fascinating geological facts and local folk legends about the formation. Getting to attend a private Naxi traditional music performance in Lijiang was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I’ll never forget. Having a private guide and driver took all the stress out of traveling, and I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Yunnan.

I came for Yunnan’s unique culture and left already planning my next trip back.

Our consultant Ethan from HelloChinaTrip added a small stop at a local Naxi village to our itinerary that wasn’t part of the original plan, and it ended up being the highlight of our whole trip. Our guide took us through Lijiang Old Town at sunrise before the crowds arrived, letting us soak in the quiet magic of the ancient cobblestone streets. The local food stops in Kunming introduced us to the best crossing-the-bridge noodles I’ve ever tasted, and we could adjust our pace whenever we wanted to linger somewhere special. This immersive tour is perfect for anyone who wants to go beyond surface-level sightseeing and experience real Yunnan culture.

As someone who loves learning about indigenous communities, this tour was exactly what I was searching for. Our guide pointed out small details about traditional architecture and local weaving crafts that I would have never noticed on my own. The 9-day pace felt perfectly balanced, with never too much rushing between destinations.

This 9-day Yunnan tour exceeded every one of my expectations.

Our guide and private driver were flawless, and every part of the itinerary was perfectly organized for the full 9 days. We had unseasonably heavy rain during our time outside Lijiang that blocked our views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which was the only disappointing part of the trip.

Our private guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the different ethnic minority cultures across Lijiang and Kunming. Having a dedicated private driver meant we never had to stress about navigating unfamiliar public transport or sticking to rigid group schedules.
